New York Nutritionist
Welcome to Compass Nutrition! Nutrition Consultant Adiana Castro MS, RD, CDN offers nutrition counseling and nutrition services in English and in Spanish for the five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens, and Bronx). She gives medical nutrition therapy to people with diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol, sports nutrition, prenatal and maternal nutrition, as well as practical advice for general wellness and weight management. She specializes in controlling blood sugar, lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, optimizing athletic performance, appropriate prenatal and maternal weight gain, teaching how to eat, and maintaining a healthy weight.
Adiana believes first and foremost that your overall goal is maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Her focus is on flexible eating guidelines. To her, there is no such thing as bad foods, and her style does not involve deprivation, punishment, guilt, and all-or-nothing rules. Most importantly there is no judgment.
Adiana realizes adult men and women have a different set of challenges that range from hectic work schedules, busy family lives, dining out for every meal, business traveling, meal planning, sleepless nights that directly affect your nutritional, and mental and general well-being.
Her approach as a Downtown New York nutritionist is simple: eat the foods you like, learn to moderate certain foods, and feel empowered to make healthy, informed food decisions. Together individual, realistic, and measurable goals are set to track your progress and change towards a healthier lifestyle. Let's get there together!

SafeSight is the safest and most advanced form of laser vision correction available today–because it’s non-invasive.
All other centers in Manhattan specialize in LASIK, or another version of LASIK called IntraLase or i-LASIK, in which the flap is cut with a laser. IntraLase was developed to decrease the chance of complication while cutting the corneal flap. And it works–the risk in IntraLase is less than the risk in LASIK. However, you can never eliminate the risk of cutting a flap unless you actually stop cutting flaps–which Dr. Chynn stopped doing in 2005, when he introduced SafeSight to NYC!
